This is a very modern Sauternes, fresh and elegant with white flowers, juicy pear, candied orange and cinnamon.  It is a dynamic but smooth wine, that is lighter than a traditional Sauternes.  It is the perfect wine for your favorite cheese, fois gras or to have as an apero (aperitif).  This wine was awarded a Gold Medal with 93 points at the Los Angeles International Wine Competition.

It is 60% Semillon, 30% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Muscadelle

“Words have failed me in their efforts to describe this wine’s majestic beauty.” I grew up working in the wine business here in central California, and studied intensely to learn the secrets of the French winemakers. I became an entrenched Bordeaux lover, denying my own Italian heritage! I began to concentrate my studies on Semillon, and then learned of the extremely complex nature of making great Sauternes from the white Semillon grape. I knew of no one in California who was even attempting to make Sauterne back in the 80’s; I still know of precious few. The misty, humid climate, which encourages the peculiar grape maturity, exists not many places outside of Graves. In fact, even in the very best of years, Sauterne production is minimal in France.

This is the most romantic of all wines, bringing vibrant flowers and soft emotions for its first date with your palate. (If you’re searching, this is the one.) I could not love this wine more. And I do NEED more!
