Domaine Andre Colonge et Fils Beaujolais Villages (2018)
This delightful wine is from The Colonge family, who have been making wine since 1789. The grapes used for this wine are grown in Lancié, the only Beaujolais Villages surrounded by Beaujolais Crus. The wine is hand harvested and vinified in whole bunches. Semi-carbonic maceration is used, lasting about 7 days. Aged in tanks (stainless steel or cement) for 6 to 8 months. It is a deep ruby red with a tint of purple. It has a nose of fresh red fruit and spice. On the palate, the red fruit follows through with strawberry and pear. It has silky tannins and round mouthfeel that ends in rich strawberry jam. Should be served cool (not cold). It is delicious anytime. Pairs well with terrines, cold meats, sausage, cheese or turkey. 100% Gamay grapes and 13% ABV.
